Our Liteweight Kayaks have the same set-up as the standard models, except that the polyethylene construction is in three layers. Although the plastic is thicker, the centre layer has been foamed so that the actual weight is lighter. Developed in 1999 after years of research and development, our technology has allowed us to produce the foam core to give exceptional stiffness. This results in a more rigid kayak that is lighter, making for much more responsive sea kayak. The foam core also provides extra floatation and insulation from the cold water.
